“Donald J. Trump and JD Vance will receive Tennessee’s eleven electoral votes for President and Vice President,” the Secretary of State’s office declared on Monday.
The 3.08 million votes cast in the November 5 election marks the highest voter turnout in Tennessee election history, which Secretary of State Hargett was “expected.”
“For months, we have prepared for what was expected to be a robust voter turnout for the Nov. 5 Presidential Election. We are encouraged by the record number of voters who cast a ballot and let their voices be heard, and we hope to see turnout continue to trend upward in future election cycles,” Hargett said.
While the total voter turnout during the 14-day period of early voting in Tennessee for the election was lower than the turnout for early voting during previous elections, early in-person voting set a new high as 2.13 million votes were cast.
Tennessee Coordinator of Elections Mark Goins expressed gratitude towards Tennessee election workers for their work during the general election, saying, “We sincerely appreciate our local election administrators, their staff, and poll workers for their dedication and preparation for this historic election.”
“Achieving this new record would not have been possible without Tennesseans stepping up to staff this election,” Goins added.
